🌟 Celebrating Heritage Through Craftsmanship! 🌟
We are proud to showcase this exquisite & iconic Stone Chariot @ Vittala Temple, Hampi, Karnataka. Our skilled rural woodcrafters from Karnataka have meticulously handcrafted this wooden miniature.
Built in the 16th century, the chariot was commissioned by King Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire. He was inspired to build a similar structure after seeing the chariot of the Sun Temple in Konark, Odisha, during a battle campaign. It is a shrine dedicated to Garuda, the vehicle of Lord Vishnu. A tribute to the rich architectural legacy of the Vijayanagara Empire, this piece reflects traditional design and the skill of local artisans who keep our wood-crafting heritage alive.
At Tamaala, we believe in empowering rural craftsmen while bringing timeless stories to life through sustainable design( Handmade/Sustainable rural Livelihoods/ preservation of cultural heritage etc)
