These beautiful clay lanterns are made by craftspeople in the Kutch region. The clay if observed on the inside is white in color, this is buff clay, predominantly found in that region. The men carve the lanterns before firing them, and the women paint them – no two lanterns can ever be alike – that sometimes is a speciality ; and we agree. Â
