Lalitha Devi, the divine mother, is one of the most important Goddesses in the Hindu pantheon. Lalitha Sahasranamam, a text which enumerates her thousand names, forms the basis of this clay depiction.

Lakshmi (Goddess of wealth and prosperity) and Saraswathi (Goddess of knowledge)  serve her with chamara (fans).

Brahma and Vishnu (part of the Trinity) sit at her feet alongwith Ganesha and Kartikeya (her sons) and she sits on Shiva depicting both her superiority over and oneness with Him.
