This patented Terracotta mobile amplifier is crafted by potters in Karnataka, with the bangle on which it stands made by Channapatna wood crafters and decorated by local artists. Initiated as a post-pandemic project, the Terracotta amplifier has generated livelihoods for rural artisans across three craft clusters: Channapatna, Narayanpura, and Magadi.

This is also the first design creation from the Tamaala portfolio to win a craft patent and a craft fellowship for its designer(Suvarna Kamakshi). This has enabled us to experiment with the idea with other designs and create more sustainable options for acoustic amplification. 

The amplification is significant for an acoustic instrument ranging from 3-4 times and an increase in range of audibility from 20 feet to over 75 feet. Available in earthy natural color with handpainted motifs.

We are shipping only in the Bangalore region for now due to logistics.

But we do have an option for the rest of India, and the world. This Channapatna Mobile Amplifier project, which showcases the mobile amplifier in a different wooden avatar (form) and creates a similar amplification of the input mobile phone sound.
